New iShares ETFs on Xetra: MSCI World with Industry Classification
Since Tuesday five new Exchange Traded Funds from iShares are tradable via Xetra and Börse Frankfurt.
The five new iShares ETFs enable investors to invest directly in individual sectors of the MSCI World Index. The sub-indices measure the performance of companies from the MSCI World Index that belong to the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS) for the sectors Non-Consumer Goods, Consumer Staples, Energy, Healthcare and Information Technology. The selected securities are based on MSCI's size, liquidity and free float criteria and come from a total of 23 industrial nations.
The iShares MSCI World Consumer Discretionary Sector UCITS ETF currently comprises sectors that are not part of the basic consumer goods and therefore react most sensitively to economic cycles. These include the automotive industry, textiles and clothing, leisure equipment as well as hotels, restaurants, department stores and Internet mail order companies.
The iShares MSCI World Consumer Staples Sector UCITS ETF, on the other hand, covers manufacturers of less cyclical consumer staples. These include food retailers, beverage and tobacco manufacturers, producers of cosmetics and personal care products, and drug retailers.
The iShares MSCI World Energy Sector UCITS ETF comprises companies that are primarily active in the promotion and processing of consumable fuels for energy generation. These include exploration, production, marketing, refining, storage and/or transportation of oil and gas products and the mining of coal.
The iShares MSCI World Health Care Sector UCITS ETF enables investors to participate in the performance of companies in the healthcare sector. This includes the provision of infrastructure and services related to healthcare. Pharmaceutical and biotechnology stocks are also included in the index.
The iShares MSCI World Information Technology Sector UCITS ETF contains stocks of the IT sector, namely companies in the field of data processing and data management as well as consulting. Manufacturers of technology hardware and equipment, such as computers and semiconductors, are also included.
